Simply Macedonia - Cultural Heritage Tours & Fine Wines

Simply Macedonia exists to promote the cultural heritage of the Republic of Macedonia by organising guided tours; promoting its food and wine and developing media links.

Macedonia architectureMacedonia is rich in cultural heritage and more sites are being discovered and restored with remarkable regularity.

The capital, Skopje, boasts the Stone Bridge where bridges have stood since the 15th century and which has been used for both festive events and ghastly spectacles such as public executions; a number of caravansaries, churches, mosques, handicraft shops and other places of interest- all within walking distance of the city centre.

The Museum of Macedonia holds similarly interesting material including traditional costumes, wonderful jewellery, colourful carpets, a variety of Macedonia craft work and reconstructed houses, complete with authentic interiors.

Matka LakeOnce outside of the capital, it doesn’t matter in which direction you travel you will find plenty of places of interest. There are Lakes, mountains, forests, waterfalls, roman ruins, monasteries, iconostases, frescos, mosaics, vineyards and so much more.

Whilst holiday’s with Simply Macedonia focus on the Cultural Heritage, there will be plenty of time to relax, enjoy the local produce and hopefully leave you wanting to see more of this beautiful country.
